13 Days of Halloween Activities

It is officially October 18th which means only thirteen more days until Halloween! Some of you may have seen our Halloween countdown calendar ( if not, you can check it out here ) which was created to countdown the final thirteen days with a treat of sorts. I decided to also create a list of fun activities to do with the kids as well and wanted to share it with everyone!

So, here it goes... our thirteen days until Halloween countdown!

13: Flashlight Tag

Who doesn't love a good game of flashlight tag? The days are getting shorter and it gets darker early enough now that this could be played one evening after dinner and before bedtime.

12: Drink Apple Cider

Now, it's quite possible you've been doing this for weeks ( I know I have! ). It's a simple activity to do on a busy school night. Make it extra special by adding a cinnamon stick to stir with or some apple slices.

11: Boo Your Neighbors

This one is always fun and definitely on my list of things to do. All you need to do is put together a fun good bag/basket for a neighbor and leave it on their porch. The idea is that it will continue and they will then boo another neighbor. It's a great way to create some fun within your community. Check out Etsy for some fun printables to include in your goody bag as well. ( Here's an example. )

10: Watch a Halloween Movie

This is another simple but fun way to celebrate spooky season. There are loads of movies to fit everyone's preferences. Check out this list of recommended movies with options for the entire family.

09: Make a Spooky Craft

Well this is definitely our department! There are tons of different Halloween themed crafts you can do that range in difficulty levels. Check out this Handprint Haunted House and Witch's Brew Fluffly Slime. I personally love this Cheesecloth Ghost and have said many times that I will make one. Maybe this year...

08: Visit a Pumpkin Patch

Halloween is not complete with at least one visit to the pumpkin patch!

07: Tell Ghost Stories

As we get closer to Halloween why not try an evening around the fire and tell some ghost stories? You can find some to read or make up your own!

06: Make Candy Apples

This one is always fun to do and such a yummy treat! Check out this tutorial here for some yummy candy apples. You could even create a candy apple bar with various toppings. So fun!

05: Carve Pumpkins

Remember those pumpkins you most likely brought home from your visit to the pumpkin patch? Now would be a great time to carve them! You can be as creative as you'd like with your design. If you have little ones that aren't quite able to carve a design yet you could have them paint their pumpkins.

04: Jump in a Big Pile of Leaves

This is always fun to do in the fall, but it does require a little bit of prep work. Hopefully you'll have raked some leaves at this point so you can have some fun. Have some friends over and get to jumping! Maybe after you're done you can enlist them to help bag the leaves too!

03: Make Pumpkin Pancakes/Waffles

This is a delicious activity to do! There are lots of recipes for pumpkin pancakes and waffles out there or you can simply add a small amount of pure pumpkin to regular pancake and waffle mix. Don't forget the cinnamon too!

02: Wear Halloween PJ's to Bed

It's almost Halloween! Time to break out those fun Halloween jammies!

01: Trick or Treat!

Happy Halloween! Tonight is the night to don your costume and grab your candy bag/bucket and go door to door trick or treating.

We hope this list was helpful and you are able to do a few of the items included. We wish you all a safe and happy Halloween!
